The manufacturing process of injection molds is a complex process that requires design, processing, assembly, debugging, and other steps to truly put into use. Throughout the entire life cycle of injection molds, the factors that affect mold quality mainly include the following aspects.
1、 Injection mold steel
Steel is the decisive factor in the quality of molds, and choosing a reasonable steel is of great significance for manufacturing injection molds. In general, the criteria for selecting steel are:
1. Requirements for mold materials: Different plastic products should use different steel for injection molding processing to meet high polishing and corrosion resistance requirements.
2. Surface treatment of molds: The surface treatment of molds is very important, and nitriding treatment can continuously enhance the surface hardness of steel, effectively extending the service life of molds. Electroplating can change the properties of mold steel to a certain extent, making it suitable for plastic parts that require high brightness and corrosion resistance. After electroplating treatment, injection molds can fully utilize electroplating to enhance and improve the performance of the steel.
2、 Structural design
A mature mold design structure should not only consider the material properties, shrinkage rate, molding temperature, and elastic tensile deformation coefficient of the product, but also fully consider factors such as the cooling water path and mold opening and closing speed of the injection mold.
3、 Injection mold processing
The processing technology of injection molds is very important. Reasonable processing arrangements can accelerate the production cycle, shorten processing time, reduce production costs, and create injection molds with appropriate cost-effectiveness. If there is an error in processing, the mold may experience welding, substandard quality, and reduce the lifespan of the mold.
4、 Standard parts
The standard parts of injection molds do not directly participate in molding, but control the operation of the entire injection mold. Good standard parts should have the characteristics of wear resistance, high accuracy, and not easily deformed. In addition, the prices of standard parts from different brands also vary.
5、 Flying mold
Flying molds mainly rely on the experience of mold fitters for processing, which is a work with technical content. For complex injection molds, collision is crucial and plays a role in determining the quality of the mold. Not only is the fractal surface irregular in shape, but it often includes multiple sliders and top blocks. For simple flat plate molds, all you need to do is ensure that there are no flash gaps on the fractal surface. In addition, processing personnel can also improve and improve other issues of injection molds through collision, which is a comprehensive work.
